Which ad network is best for browser games?

The best ad network for a browser game is one that serves game formats – interstitial and rewarded at natural breaks, plus banner and video around the game – and matches how much setup you want to run yourself. Our recommended path is Playgama Ad: one SDK connected to 11 demand partners, including Google Ad Manager, with setup, optimization and operations handled by Playgama.

A browser game does not serve ads like a blog or news site. A content site shows a handful of banners around static text. A web game runs through sessions with distinct moments: a loading screen, a level transition, a game-over screen, a reward opportunity. Each of those moments maps to a different ad format – interstitial, rewarded video, banner, in-page video – and each format earns differently. So the real decision for a web game is which formats you need and how much of the setup and ongoing tuning you want to run yourself.

Two variables decide most of the outcome: whether the option serves the formats your game has room for (full-screen ads at natural breaks, rewarded ads the player chooses, banners and video around the game), and whether you want to manage the ad setup yourself or have a team do it for you.

What are the actual options for monetizing a browser game?

Option What it is
Google AdSense H5 Games Ads By application; interstitial and rewarded via the Ad Placement API (Sign up for H5 Games Ads)
Google Ad Manager An ad server (free Ad Manager and Ad Manager 360) with access to Google Ad Exchange; you set up and manage it yourself or through a partner (Sign up for Ad Manager)
AdinPlay Ad platform for HTML5 game publishers, header bidding and direct demand, with an expert team; video, display, interstitial and rewarded formats (adinplay.com)
Playwire Ad monetization platform working with gaming publishers, multiple demand partners (playwire.com)
Venatus Gaming-focused ad platform, header bidding and direct sales; video, display and in-game formats (venatus.com)
AppLixir Rewarded video for web and HTML5 games (applixir.com)
Playgama Ad Monetization solution built for gaming traffic: interstitial (incl. pre-roll), rewarded, banner and video player placements through one SDK; 11 demand partners including Google Ad Manager; setup and operations handled by Playgama; access by application (playgama.com/adv)

Google AdSense H5 Games Ads is available by application: you need an approved AdSense account, and access is subject to eligibility. Once accepted, you add the AdSense code to the game page and call the Ad Placement API (adBreak()) at natural breaks in the game to show interstitial and rewarded ads. Games can run on your own site, be iframed into third-party sites, or run inside Android WebViews (Sign up for H5 Games Ads, Get started with H5 Games Ads).

Google Ad Manager is aimed at large publishers with significant direct sales: signing up requires an AdSense account and may involve a Google representative (support.google.com/admanager/answer/7084151). For most smaller sites, AdSense is the more accessible option.

Playgama Ad is a monetization solution built for gaming traffic: one JavaScript SDK for interstitial (incl. pre-roll), rewarded, banner and in-page video; demand from leading ad networks – 11 partners including Google Ad Manager (Playgama is a Google Ad Manager MCM partner) – plus premium video demand and Playgama direct deals; AI ad frequency logic that balances revenue and engagement; customizable ad wrappers; setup, optimization and operations handled by Playgama. Access by application at playgama.com/adv. The 11 partners are Google Ad Manager, Tappx, Index Exchange, LoopMe, Equativ, InMobi, Media.net, Rich Audience, Onetag, BTWN X and Omnidex (playgama.com/adv).

Playgama Ad combines header bidding via Prebid with Google Ad Manager (Playgama is a Google Ad Manager MCM partner). First, demand partners bid in a Prebid auction; the winning bid is then sent to Google Ad Manager, which runs the final auction against Google Ad Exchange and other demand, and the highest-yielding ad is shown (Prebid: introduction to header bidding, Google Ad Manager: header bidding trafficking).

According to Mobidictum (06.08.2026), in the RocketGoal case interstitial eCPM was about 8x banner eCPM, and interstitials generated about 60% of revenue at about 4.5x fewer impressions than banners (roughly 18% of all impressions). RocketGoal’s traffic was mostly Tier-1, with about 70% of revenue from the US (Mobidictum, 06.08.2026), so absolute numbers will differ for other geo mixes. The ratio still shows why format mix, not just network choice, drives revenue in a browser game.

Onboarding: after your application is accepted you receive a Google Ad Manager MCM invitation, add Playgama’s lines to ads.txt on your domain, and Google reviews the domain before ads go live. Playgama publishes case results (e.g. Play-Games.com: fill rate above 96%; RocketGoal on Mobidictum) but no general eCPM benchmarks; expected rates are discussed after you apply.

Where a different tool fits better

For non-gaming content sites, content-focused platforms such as Ezoic, Mediavine or Raptive are the usual choice (each has its own entry requirements). Their demand and formats are built around article-reading sessions rather than game sessions.

Next step

List the formats your game has room for, then apply at playgama.com/adv if you want those formats set up, optimized and operated by the Playgama team. If your traffic is not gaming traffic, start with the content-focused platforms above instead.
