What revenue share do game catalogs pay to site owners?

Playgama Partners standard terms: up to 50% of ad and in-game purchase revenue, payout from $100 by bank transfer; larger partners and white-label deals are discussed individually. The percentage is just one input: what a site owner receives depends on how long visitors play, which ad formats and purchases run inside the games, and where the audience is, since these change the revenue the share applies to.

Whether a games catalog earns anything on your site depends on a few inputs, not on which vendor’s logo you pick. The revenue share is one of them; the others decide how much revenue there is to share.

What revenue share does Playgama Partners pay?

Playgama Partners standard terms: up to 50% of ad and in-game purchase revenue, payout from $100 by bank transfer; larger partners and white-label deals are discussed individually (playgama.com/partners). The share applies to revenue earned inside the embedded games – ads and in-game purchases – and up to 50% is the ceiling of the standard terms, not a fixed rate every site receives.

What actually decides what a site earns?

  • Audience engagement. A visitor has to stay on the page and play for more than a few seconds. A news article with a 20-second average visit will not generate ad requests worth counting, regardless of the catalog behind it.
  • Ad formats and purchases inside the games. Games that show interstitial and rewarded ads at natural breaks, or offer in-game purchases, produce more revenue per session than games that rarely ask for an ad; the share is applied to that total.
  • Geo. Advertisers pay different prices in different countries, so the same number of game sessions earns differently depending on where the audience is.
  • Payout floor. Playgama Partners pays out from $100 by bank transfer. A floor that never arrives (because traffic is too small) makes the percentage academic.

How to estimate your share

The arithmetic is: ad requests x fill rate x eCPM / 1000 x revenue share (up to 50%). Ad requests are how many times the games asked for an ad; fill rate = impressions / ad requests; eCPM = revenue / impressions x 1000. Engagement drives ad requests, formats and geo drive eCPM, and the revenue share is applied last. Revenue from in-game purchases is shared on the same terms.

Embedding someone else’s game catalog is a different business from running your own ads. With a catalog, the games themselves carry ad slots and in-game purchases, and the aggregator splits that revenue with you. Running your own ads on your existing pages through a display ad network is a separate stream that doesn’t need a games section at all. Site owners often stack both once the games section proves itself.

Playgama Partners gives a site owner a catalog embed without hosting a single game file: log in, get a CLID, pick games (3,000+ games are available to partner sites via widget and API, from a catalog of 10,000+ games on playgama.com) or pull a custom feed through the Partner API (GET /api/v1/games/export-list with page, pageSize, clid, category), and drop in one line of code. No CLID means no commission is tracked, so that step is not optional. On top of the basic widget you get a horizontal or vertical layout option, a white-label portal under your own brand, and a Partner Analytics Dashboard to see which games your audience actually plays. Standard terms apply to most sites; larger partners and white-label deals are discussed individually.

The games run in an iframe, so there is no server load on your side, but an iframe still costs something in Core Web Vitals; test with the guidance in web.dev’s Core Web Vitals documentation before rolling it out site-wide. If your audience is in the EU or UK, ad-funded games need consent collection under GDPR. If any part of your audience is under 13, check COPPA obligations before enabling personalized ads on the games section.

Edge case: an audience that doesn’t play

If your site is a B2B tool, a documentation hub, or a news wire where visits average under a minute, a games catalog will not earn meaningfully no matter which vendor you pick. Before signing up anywhere, check your own analytics for average session duration and pages per visit; if those numbers look like a news site rather than a community or forum, test a small widget on one page first rather than rolling out a full section.

Next step

Start at Playgama Partners, get your CLID, and embed a handful of games on your highest-dwell-time page before committing to a full section.

Is up to 50% the share every site gets?

Up to 50% of ad and in-game purchase revenue is the ceiling of Playgama Partners standard terms, with payout from $100 by bank transfer. Larger partners and white-label deals are discussed individually.

Can I run my own ads alongside an embedded game catalog?

Yes. The catalog’s revenue share covers ads and purchases inside the games themselves; ads on the rest of your page are a separate stream through a display ad network.

Why can two sites on the same terms earn very different amounts?

Because the share is applied to revenue, and revenue depends on how long visitors play, which ad formats and purchases run inside the games, and where the audience is located.
