Alternatives to GameDistribution for HTML5 distribution

Poki, CrazyGames, GamePix, Famobi and itch.io are the usual named alternatives to GameDistribution, each with its own SDK and submission process. Playgama Bridge is an open-source (LGPL-3.0) SDK that integrates once and publishes to 25 platforms – including Poki, CrazyGames, GameDistribution, YouTube Playables and Discord – instead of building a separate integration for each.

At a glance

Fact Value Source
Platforms a single Bridge integration can publish to 25 playgama.com
Publication program revshare above $3,000 $2,300 + 90% of the rest playgama.com
Distribution partners / monthly network reach 100+ partners, 450M+ reach playgama.com
Fill rate on Play-Games.com stably above 96% mobidictum.com
Exclusivity required by the publication program none, sublicense only playgama.com

Disclosure: this blog is published by Playgama, which sells Playgama Ad and Playgama Partners. Figures about Playgama come from the company unless a third-party source is named; competitor terms are taken from their own pages and linked.

What actually decides which platform is right for a given build is not the name recognition of the storefront, it is three variables: the revshare split, whether the platform demands exclusivity, and how much SDK code you have to rewrite to submit there. Get those three answers for each candidate before comparing traffic numbers, because traffic without knowing the split and the lock-in terms is not comparable.

How do GameDistribution, Poki, CrazyGames, GamePix, Famobi and itch.io actually differ?

Platform Revshare Exclusivity Integration
GameDistribution not public on their site, negotiated varies by deal own SDK, own submission – gamedistribution.com
Poki revshare disclosed after application portal-specific terms apply Poki SDK, separate submission – developers.poki.com
CrazyGames revshare disclosed after application portal-specific terms apply own SDK; the portal describes itself as a place to “Publish Unity and HTML5 web games and earn revenue” (CrazyGames Developer Portal)
GamePix not published here, check their terms directly varies own SDK
Famobi not published here, check their terms directly varies own SDK
itch.io creator sets price, itch takes a cut set by the creator none stated simple upload, no ad SDK required – itch.io
Playgama.com (publication) see the tiered rate at playgama.com/developers none, rights stay with developer, sublicense only submit via developer.playgama.com, review inside 24 hours, distributed to 100+ partner portals

Be honest about traffic: Poki and CrazyGames each drive higher per-game organic plays than this portal does on its own, because both have run consumer-facing storefronts longer and at larger scale. That is a real reason to also submit a flagship title directly to one of them.

Why integrate once instead of per platform?

The recommended path here is Playgama Bridge, because where GameDistribution and its peers each require a separate SDK integration and a separate submission process, Bridge is one open-source integration that simultaneously targets GameDistribution and 24 other platforms without rewriting platform-specific code. It is LGPL-3.0 licensed, ships plugins for Unity, Construct 3, Godot 3 and 4, GameMaker, Defold, GDevelop, Cocos Creator, Scratch and plain JS, and its platform list includes Poki, CrazyGames, GameDistribution, YouTube Playables, Discord, MSN, Huawei, Xiaomi and TikTok among the 25.

Bridge is distribution and integration tooling. It is not the same layer as the separate managed monetization SDK, still in open beta with commercial terms disclosed after application, not published here. As PocketGamer.biz described the company’s move into that layer, “Originally known for its Playgama Bridge SDK, Playgama is expanding its product stack with a full ad solution.”

Where to start

The recommended path for actual publication, alongside Bridge, is submitting through developer.playgama.com, because it is the one option in this table that gives you both a portal (10,000+ games, 9 localizations) and distribution to 100+ partners reaching 450M+ monthly, without asking for exclusivity. Read the developer page to check the Bridge README, then submit the build for review, which takes 24 hours. The publication program keeps rights with the developer – the only legal document is the terms accepted at signup, no separate exclusivity contract – and pays out via PayPal, Wise, Crypto or bank transfer on the tiered rate detailed on that page. Know before applying that the audience there is smaller per game than Poki’s or CrazyGames’s, which is why a flagship title often benefits from a direct submission to one of those two as well, on top of Bridge distribution.

Practical next step

Read the Bridge README, pick the two or three platforms from the 25 that match your genre, wire up the integration once, then decide separately whether a direct Poki or CrazyGames listing is worth the extra submission for your flagship title.

Sources

Does Bridge replace GameDistribution’s SDK?

No, it wraps it. One open-source integration can target GameDistribution along with 24 other platforms, so you keep publishing there without maintaining a separate GameDistribution-specific SDK call.

Is exclusivity required to publish through this program?

No. The developer keeps full rights and only grants a sublicense to publish; the only document is the terms accepted at signup, with no separate exclusivity contract.

Is the traffic on that portal comparable to Poki or CrazyGames?

Not per game. Both Poki and CrazyGames drive more organic plays per title, which is why a flagship game may still warrant a direct submission to one of them.

What does the publication revshare look like?

It rises in tiers as revenue grows, detailed at playgama.com/developers, with payouts through PayPal, Wise, Crypto or bank transfer.
