About Fjord Defence: Norse Fjord Tower Defence
Fjord Defence is a tower defence game set on the frozen coast of a Norse fjord, where raiders march along the road toward your village and seven distinct tower types stand between them and the gate. Fifteen maps carry the fight from an open grass shore through ash fields and deep snow, with a boss appearing on every fifth map. Three difficulty levels are available, and Berserk unlocks after clearing five maps on Normal. An endless raid mode opens on any map already beaten.
Silver earned from raids funds permanent upgrades in the Workshop, and a loadout of consumable perks is chosen before each battle. The game runs as a single HTML file with bundled assets and no network requests after load; all sound is synthesised at runtime.
How to Play Fjord Defence: Stop Raiders Before They Reach the Gate
Raiders land at the shore and march along the road toward your village. Every raider that reaches the gate costs a life, and the level ends when lives run out. Clear all waves to win the map.
Placing and Managing Towers
Tap a tower already on the field to upgrade it or to sell it back at full price within the first five seconds of placement. Towers have three upgrade levels, each with a distinct model.
Seven Tower Types
- Archers
- Ballistae
- Catapults
- Flame pits: strip the armour that shield bearers rely on
- Frost runes: slow raiders and make them take more fire damage
- Return runes: teleport a raider back down the path
- Totems: weaken everything nearby
Combining tower types matters more than stacking one kind. A return rune placed at the right bend can send a boss back through your entire gauntlet, and pairing frost with flame exploits both the slow and the armour-stripping effects together.
Progression and Workshop
Silver earned from raids is spent in the Workshop on permanent upgrades that carry over to later maps. Before each battle, a loadout of consumable perks is selected to shape that run's strategy.
