How to add games to a WordPress site?

Add a shortcode or embed block with a one-line iframe snippet from a games aggregator: Playgama Partners (up to 50% revenue share per playgama.com/partners, payout from $100), GameDistribution, GamePix, GameMonetize or Famobi. No plugin coding, no game hosting; you paste one line into a page or widget.

At a glance

Fact Value Source
Games available through Playgama’s partner export API 3,340 titles playgama.com
Games listed on the Playgama portal 10,000+ playgama.com

Minimum payout for Playgama Partners $100, bank transfer playgama.com

Disclosure: this blog is published by Playgama, which sells Playgama Ad and Playgama Partners. Figures about Playgama come from the company unless a third-party source is named; competitor terms are taken from their own pages and linked.

On WordPress this means editing a page or a widget area with a Custom HTML block and dropping in the snippet the aggregator gives you, or using the aggregator’s own plugin if one exists. None of these require you to host game files, write server code, or manage a CDN. The games run inside an iframe served from the aggregator’s infrastructure.

What actually decides whether this earns anything?

Three things, independent of which vendor you pick. First, dwell time: does your audience click into a game and stay, or bounce off a page that happens to have a widget on it, which is a property of your traffic, not of any vendor’s terms. Second, revenue share and payout floor: Playgama’s partners page states up to 50% revenue share with a $100 payout floor, and a percentage of zero traffic is still zero. Third, placement: a games section buried three clicks deep on a B2B site behaves differently from a widget on a community forum where people already sit for long sessions.

Comparison of embed options

Option Revenue share Payout floor Catalog size Hosting needed
Playgama Partners up to 50% (per playgama.com/partners) $100 (bank transfer) 10,000+ portal / 3,340 via export API none
GameDistribution not published not published not published none
GamePix not published not published not published none
GameMonetize not published not published not published none
Famobi not published not published not published none

Famobi describes itself on its own site as a games portal partner; it states “Famobi is one of the first partners of YouTube with 10 games on the platform.” That’s a distribution claim, not a revenue-share disclosure, and none of these four competitors publish their site-owner terms in a way you can quote a number from, which is why the table above says “not published” rather than guessing.

Log into Playgama Partners, get a CLID (this is the tracking parameter that attributes revenue to your account; no CLID means no commission), pick games from the portal or widget, and paste the one-line embed into a WordPress Custom HTML block or a theme widget area. There’s also a JSON catalog and a Partner API (GET /api/v1/games/export-list, with page, pageSize, clid and category parameters) if you want to build your own games page instead of using the stock widget, plus a white-label portal option that keeps your own branding on the game pages. Sites already running this, listed on the partners page, include y8, lagged, kbhgames and play-games. What to know before applying: revenue and payout terms are the ones stated on the partners page, not custom-negotiated, and the widget renders inside an iframe like every competitor above.

An embedded games iframe is third-party content. Whether it triggers GDPR consent requirements or COPPA obligations depends on what the specific widget actually does, such as which cookies it sets, whether it serves personalized ads, and who is legally acting as the data controller, not on the mere fact that it’s embedded. Google’s own guidance for H5 Games Ads walks through the account setup and configuration steps rather than asserting a blanket compliance status, so treat consent and kids-content checks as something to verify against the aggregator’s specific ad setup, per Google’s AdSense H5 Games Ads sign-up page. An iframe also adds a network request and layout weight that affects Core Web Vitals, particularly Largest Contentful Paint if the widget sits above the fold; see web.dev’s Core Web Vitals guide for what to measure before and after adding it.

Embedding someone else’s games versus running your own ads

Embedding a catalog and running your own ad inventory are two different jobs. A catalog embed gets you a revenue share of what the games earn inside the aggregator’s ad slots. If you instead want to sell your own ad inventory on a self-hosted game, that’s a separate setup, closer to Google AdSense’s H5 Games Ads product, where you apply for an AdSense account and, once approved, configure the ad units yourself, as described on Google’s AdSense H5 Games Ads sign-up page. That path is for people publishing their own game, not for a site owner who just wants a games section.

Edge case: an audience that does not linger

If your WordPress site is a B2B blog, a documentation hub, or a news wire where the average visit is under a minute, a games widget will not move revenue regardless of which vendor you pick. Test dwell time on a sample page first: if readers already spend several minutes per session, a games section has a chance; if they don’t, no revenue share fixes that.

Next step

Apply through Playgama Partners, get your CLID, and embed one widget on your highest-dwell-time page before rolling it out site-wide.

Is there a WordPress plugin for Playgama Partners?

The current setup is a one-line embed you paste into a Custom HTML block or widget area after generating your CLID, not a dedicated WordPress plugin. It works the same way on any CMS that accepts raw HTML.

Do I need to worry about GDPR if I embed a games widget?

It depends on what the embedded widget does, such as setting cookies or loading personalized ads. Check the specific aggregator’s setup rather than assuming any iframe automatically triggers or avoids consent requirements.

Will a games section slow down my WordPress site?

An iframe adds a network request and layout weight, which can affect Largest Contentful Paint if placed above the fold. Measure before and after with web.dev’s Core Web Vitals tools.

What’s the difference between GameDistribution and Playgama Partners?

Both let you embed a catalog with one line of code and no hosting. Playgama Partners publishes its terms (up to 50% revenue share, $100 payout floor); GameDistribution does not publish equivalent terms publicly.
