Downloading Your Minecraft Bedrock Realm

Downloading a copy of your Minecraft Bedrock realm is straightforward and gives you peace of mind knowing your world is safely backed up. Here’s how to do it step by step.

From the Realms Menu

Open Minecraft Bedrock Edition and navigate to the “Play” tab. Click on your realm to select it, then look for the pencil icon (Edit) next to your realm name. Click this to enter the realm settings.

In the realm settings, you’ll see several tabs at the top. Click on “Backup” or “World Backups” depending on your version. This shows you all available backups of your realm, including automatic ones created by Minecraft.

Find the backup you want to download – usually the most recent one at the top. Click the download arrow icon next to it. The world will begin downloading to your device’s local storage.

Where Your Downloaded World Goes

The downloaded realm appears in your single-player worlds list. You can find it by going to “Play” > “Worlds” in the main menu. The world will have the same name as your realm, making it easy to identify.

Important Things to Know

Only realm owners and operators with the right permissions can download backups. Regular members cannot access this feature. The download includes all builds, items, and world data up to the backup point, but any changes made after that backup was created won’t be included.

Downloaded worlds work exactly like any other single-player world. You can play offline, modify them freely, or even upload them to a different realm later. This makes downloading realms perfect for creating personal copies or transferring worlds between different Minecraft setups.

If you’re planning to move your world to another device, the download process is the same – just make sure to transfer the world files to your new device’s Minecraft folder afterward. TL;DR

Download Minecraft Bedrock realm backups through the realm settings by clicking Edit > Backup > Download. Only realm owners/operators can access this feature.
