What You Need to Breed Bees

To breed bees in Minecraft, you’ll need flowers and patience. Any flower works – roses, dandelions, sunflowers, or even flowering azalea leaves. Each bee needs to be fed one flower to enter “love mode” for breeding.

Step-by-Step Breeding Process

First, locate at least two adult bees. You can find them naturally around flower biomes, plains, or sunflower plains. Hold flowers in your hand and right-click (or tap on mobile) each bee to feed them.

Once both bees are fed, they’ll display heart particles above their heads. They’ll fly toward each other and create a baby bee after a few seconds. The baby bee takes 20 minutes to grow into an adult, but you can speed this up by feeding it more flowers.

Creating the Perfect Bee Environment

Bees need flowers within a 3-block radius to work effectively. Plant plenty of flowers around your base to keep them happy and productive. They’ll pollinate flowers during the day and return to their hive or nest at night.

Consider building or placing bee nests near your flower gardens. Bees can travel up to 22 blocks from their home to find flowers, but closer is always better for efficiency.

Managing Your Bee Population

Each bee nest or hive can house up to 3 bees. If you’re planning a large bee farm, you’ll need multiple homes for your growing colony. Craft additional beehives using 6 planks and 3 honeycombs.

Baby bees don’t produce honey or pollinate flowers, so be patient as your population grows. Adult bees will continue the cycle naturally once you’ve established a good breeding foundation.

With the right setup of flowers and homes, your bee colony will thrive and provide endless honey and honeycomb for all your Minecraft adventures.

TL;DR

Feed two adult bees flowers to make them breed and create baby bees. Provide plenty of flowers and bee homes for a thriving colony.
