Rock Paper Scissors: Alchemist
About Rock Paper Scissors: Alchemist: Magical Roguelike Strategy
Rock Paper Scissors: Alchemist takes the hand-game everyone knows and rebuilds it as a high-stakes tactical roguelike set in an Alchemist's lab. Each run pits you against escalating mythical bosses, and the familiar win-lose-draw triangle is just the foundation—alchemical card skills, chain reactions, and a shop full of passives transform every decision into a layered strategic puzzle. Rounds can last two minutes or stretch into fifteen-minute survival gauntlets, making the game equally suited to a quick break or a deep session.
How to Play Rock Paper Scissors: Alchemist: Plan Counters and Survive
Reading the Enemy and Drafting
At the start of every turn, the enemy's full 3-card sequence is placed face-up on the board, so the matchup is visible before committing. Five cards are dealt from your deck, and three of them go into your combat slots. Each slot displays WIN, LOSE, or DRAW in real time, letting you adjust before locking in.
Resolving Combat
" triggers the slots to resolve from left to right. Standard logic applies throughout: Rock beats Scissors, Scissors beats Paper, Paper beats Rock. A win deals 10 damage to the enemy, a tie deals 2 damage to both sides, and a loss costs you 10 HP. Turns continue until the enemy's HP reaches zero. Every 5th round is a boss with its own special rule.
Card Skills
Skills fire when their card is played in combat:
- Flint Rock: if it beats Scissors, it blasts +10 damage into the next slot.
- Razor Scissors: if it beats Paper, it strikes again for 5 damage.
- Toxic Paper: poisons the enemy for 4 damage at the end of the turn, even if the card loses. Enemies can use it too.
- Golden: awards +5 gold every time the card is played.
- Heart: heals 5 HP every time the card is played.
The Shop and Skill Slots
Between rounds, gold spent in the Alchemist's Shop buys potions, passive upgrades, or new skills. When purchasing a skill, you choose which card receives it. HP does not refill between rounds, so healing management matters throughout a run. Defeating a boss restores a small amount of HP.
Cards begin with one skill slot. Beating the first boss unlocks a second slot, and winning the full run unlocks a third, making it possible to stack poison, coin, and healing effects on a single card.
Winning and Endless Mode
Defeating the boss at round 10 wins the run. After that, Endless Mode begins, with a boss appearing every 5 rounds. The run ends when HP reaches zero.
