About Banners of the Realm: Hero Empire
Banners of the Realm: Hero Empire is a hero-and-army strategy built in the spirit of classic Heroes of Might and Magic and King's Bounty. Ride across an open world, seize every mine, village, and farm you are able to reach, and watch the gold flow in — because stronger troops cost money, and the map is full of rivals who know it too. Battles are live affairs with hundreds of soldiers on the field at once: trained legions hold formation, fire volleys, and break raw hordes, while dragons, griffons, and golems add weight to either side. The castle recruits soldiers on its own and they march to your hero automatically, even while you are away.
At the start, choose between two heroes: a Warrior who commands a catapult, or a Mage who wields Lightning, Fire, and Ice. Twelve villain fortresses stand between you and control of the realm, and at the end you must decide whether to serve the Iron Legion.
How to Play Banners of the Realm: Hero Empire
Ride across the world map to capture territory. Every mine, village, and farm seized brings in gold, and that gold funds stronger troops. Weak monster groups flee when your army approaches; guards block the roads and must be fought. Your troops grow more capable with every battle they survive.
Before committing to a fight, select your army composition at the bottom-left panel and watch a sample battle to gauge the matchup. Once in battle, the approach depends on your chosen hero.
Warrior in Battle
- Aim catapult stones by targeting the field
- Trigger the Heroic Charge ability when the moment calls for it
Mage in Battle
- Choose from Lightning, Fire, or Ice spells
- Direct each spell by targeting the field
Controls
- Click on the map: Ride the hero to that location
- Click a monster group: Initiate a fight with that group
- Click the field (Warrior): Throw catapult stones
- Heroic Charge button (Warrior): Activate Heroic Charge
- Click Lightning / Fire / Ice (Mage): Select and cast the chosen spell on the field
- Click army panel (bottom left): Choose army composition and watch a sample battle
- WASD / Arrow keys: Move the camera
- Space: Centre the camera on the hero
- V: Centre the camera on the army
- Esc: Close open windows
