About Duct & Cover
Duct & Cover is a physics puzzle game where a washing machine is about to spin, and perched on top of it are a TV, a box, and Loaf — a ginger cat. The goal is to tape everything together well enough that it all survives the shaking. Every strip of tape is straight and joins whatever it crosses: the cat to the box, a stack of plates into a solid brick, the TV to the washer. Then the machine runs for three rounds, each harder than the last, and every round survived earns a star.
The tape itself has personality — it stretches, turns red, squeaks, and snaps with a twang when it gives out. Beyond duct tape, the game introduces rubber bands, rope, double-sided tape, and a suction cup. You'll find 32 levels spread across nine locations: the laundry, a moving van, a balloon party, the kitchen, a balcony, the bathroom, a carousel, a flat with a robot vacuum, and a junkyard with a crane magnet. Three bosses punctuate the run, and the whole thing ends with a DELIVERED stamp. Everything in the game has googly eyes, and everything is very worried.
One scene shows a white truck with a wooden cargo bed parked on a dark asphalt road with dashed white lines. Another scene shows a row of blocky tan and grey buildings with repeated rectangular windows standing behind a line of leafless brown trees.
How to Play Duct & Cover: Tape, Survive, Rewind
Each level opens by showing what happens to the objects untaped — a cassette button replays that preview whenever needed. The job is to draw tape strips before pressing the big yellow ▶ button to start the shaking.
Taping the Objects
- Drag with a finger or the mouse to lay down a straight strip of tape; releasing it locks the strip in place and joins everything it crossed.
- A strip must connect at least two things, and at least one of them must be loose — otherwise the strip returns to the roll.
- Only objects with a dark outline accept tape; the background does not.
- One crease on a strip acts as a hinge; two creases create a rigid weld.
- Tap any strip to peel it off and recover it to the roll.
Surviving the Rounds
- The machine shakes the room for three rounds, each harder than the last.
- Nothing with eyes may touch the floor, and nothing fragile may break.
- A star is awarded for every round survived; earning one star is enough to pass the level.
Retrying and Rewinding
- After the result screen, tap the room to rewind with all existing strips kept in place.
- On a retry, hold the screen to shake at 3× speed.
