About Word of Troy:Odyssey
Word of Troy:Odyssey is a Greek-mythology lane battler built around a genuinely original mechanic: you spell out your legends tile by tile. Recruit word-tile soldiers and hero fragments, then place them side by side on the battlefield — when PER and SEUS land adjacent, they fuse into PERSEUS. That same SEUS fragment can instead complete THESEUS or ODYSSEUS, so every draw is a branching decision rather than a fixed path.
You and an AI commander defend mirrored battlefields. Waves of satyrs and cyclopes march mountain paths toward your little Prince, and any enemy that slips through costs a heart — bosses cost two. The first side to lose all three hearts is defeated. A match runs 3–8 minutes.
Every unit, weapon, effect, and boss is rendered in hand-built Greek black-figure pottery style — no sprite packs, no stock art. The visual system is hand-authored vector drawing code, with a small number of decorative border images that were AI-generated and hand-integrated. Several scenes show the characteristic dark silhouette figures and ornamental borders of that pottery tradition. The game was developed with AI assistance for code, text, and game design.
Weapons carry visible grade markers from Blue upward: inlay, a gemmed pommel, gold filigree, and a turning halo at Mythic. A Mythic weapon also wakes a skill of its own. Orange, Red, and Mythic arms can be forged at the Armory anvil using gathered fragments. Between battles, bargain with the Mysterious Merchant or spin Hermes' lucky wheel. The endless ODYSSEY mode sails to a different one of five shores each day.
How to Play Word of Troy:Odyssey
Your Prince has 3 hearts. Enemies that slip past cost one heart each; bosses cost two. Lose all three and the battle is lost. Bread — earned from kills — funds everything, so keeping enemies off the field keeps your economy moving.
Recruit and Place
- Shovels dig dark squares into new ground, expanding your placement area.
Merge and Rank Up
- Two identical soldiers of the same rank merge into a stronger one.
- Merging goes up to rank 4.
Spell a Legend
- Hero fragments fuse when placed side by side: PER + SEUS = PERSEUS.
- Shared fragments open choices — SEUS can also finish THESEUS or ODYSSEUS.

- RIDER: strikes two foes at once

- Heroes charge their skills through kills.
- Zeus: chains sky lightning

- A boss arrives on wave 6, then every 7 waves after that.
- Win to earn stars, rise in rank, and unlock new maps.
- Collect weapons in the Armory and meet the Mysterious Merchant between battles.

- Tap RECRUIT: spend bread to draw soldiers and hero fragments
- Drag tile: move a tile from your camp onto a light square on the field
- Tap glowing hero: unleash the hero's charged skill
