About Tower Dice Bastion
Tower Dice Bastion is a merge tower defense game where colorful dice serve as your entire line of defense. Buy dice, position them along the enemy road, and combine two dice of the same type and level to forge a stronger one. Because dice shoot on their own, every meaningful choice comes down to what to buy, where to place it, and when to merge.
Five elements counter each other across the battlefield: Common, Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. Each carries a distinct role — Water slows enemies, Fire sets them ablaze, Earth cracks their armor, Air blows them back, and Common lands a critical blow every few shots. Merge two different elements at level 3 or higher and a hybrid die emerges: Steam, Lava, Storm, Frost, Mud, or Dust. Each hybrid fires a volley of empowered projectiles at random enemies and applies its own special effect.
Enemies arrive in mixed waves featuring fast runners and heavy tanks, with a boss appearing every five waves. Defeating a boss lets you choose one of three upgrades that carry through to the end of the run. Fallen enemies sometimes drop coins, and each new die costs a little more than the last, so every purchase matters. The Magister — a bearded white die — guides you through the mechanics as you go. Rewards earned across runs can be spent on permanent upgrades and new dice types.
How to Play Tower Dice Bastion
Dice handle attacking on their own; your role is to manage the board through buying, placing, and merging.
Core Loop
- Buy a die and drop it into a free slot beside the enemy road.
- Drag a die onto another die of the same type and level to merge them into a stronger one.
- Merge two different elements at level 3 or higher to create a hybrid die, which fires a volley of empowered projectiles at random enemies every few shots.
- Collect coins that drop from defeated enemies — each new die costs a little more than the previous one.
Lightning Strike
- Merging fills the lightning button. Once charged, activate it and then target the road to call down a chain lightning strike.
Boss Upgrades
- After each boss defeat, choose one of three upgrades that remain active for the rest of the run.

- Left mouse button: menus, buying dice, collecting coins
- Click and drag: place, move, and merge dice
- Lightning button, then click the road: chain lightning strike
- Speed button: switch between normal and double speed
- Esc: pause or resume during regular runs
- Tap: buttons, buying dice, collecting coins (mobile and tablet)

- Tap the charged lightning button, then tap the road: chain lightning strike (mobile and tablet)
- Speed and pause buttons on screen: speed and pause controls (mobile and tablet)
The pause function becomes available after the tutorial.
