Trap the Bear is a turn-based puzzle game set on an Arctic ice floe, where a crew of lost penguins faces a hungry polar bear. The goal is to surround the bear completely, cutting off every path until it has nowhere left to move — all before it catches too many of your crew. The rules take seconds to learn, but every move counts, and earning the top rating demands precise, efficient play.

Forty levels spread across four chapters, with boss bears and a new daily puzzle keeping the challenge fresh. Three stars means trapping the bear without losing a single penguin, in the fewest moves possible — easy to win, hard to master.

How to Play Trap the Bear: Surround the Bear to Win

Select a penguin, then choose a highlighted mound beside it to move it one step. After your move, the bear takes its turn: it can step one mound, or jump over a penguin standing next to it into an empty space, catching that penguin in the process. The round ends when the bear has no remaining moves — that's your victory. Lose too many penguins to the bear, or find that your penguins themselves can't move, and the level is over.

Special Terrain and Obstacles

• Cracked ice: breaks after something steps off it, permanently removing that path
• Whale holes: impassable gaps that block movement for both the bear and penguins
• Sleepy seal: the bear cannot jump over it, making it a solid blocker

Hints and Undo

• Undo: takes back your last move
• Hint: available when you get stuck

Controls

• Click or tap a penguin: selects it
• Click or tap a highlighted mound: moves the selected penguin one step to that position
