About Screw Out: A Wooden Screw Puzzle with 300 Handcrafted Levels
Screw Out is a wooden screw puzzle built around one deeply satisfying mechanic: tap a screw and it pops free. Strip the last pin from a plank and it swings loose, hangs for a moment, then drops away. Clear every plank and the level is done. The game starts approachable and stops being simple around level 20, where overlapping layers of wood mean the pin you actually want is buried beneath three others you have to free first.

How to Play Screw Out: Clear Every Plank Before the Timer Runs Out
The core loop is tight: read the stack, plan two moves ahead, and the whole thing unlocks at once. Screws sit under overlapping layers of wood, so pulling one plank loose can swing it into exactly the spot you needed — or block the next move entirely. Spare holes let you park a screw you are not ready to lose yet.
Early boards are untimed while you learn the rules. From level 8 the timer starts, and later boards run tight enough that a wasted move costs you the run.
Power-ups
- Hammer: smashes a plank straight off the board
- Unscrew: deletes a pin for good
- Freeze: stops the clock for 30 seconds
- Drill: puts a fresh hole exactly where you need one
All four power-ups are unlocked as you progress through the levels.
Controls
- Tap a screw: pull it out — it goes to your hand
- Tap a free hole: drive the held screw back in somewhere safer
