Picture Shift
About Picture Shift
Picture Shift is a sliding block puzzle where a hidden image — a cute cow, a rocket, a slice of pizza — has been torn apart and scattered across a packed grid. The goal is to slide those pieces back into the right formation before the timer runs out. One scene shows a grid filled with colored blocks decorated with a compass, a campfire, and a green tent. The challenge is not knowing where the pieces belong; it is figuring out the exact order to move them, because the wrong first move can box everything in.
Blocks come in a range of shapes — squares, lines, L-bends, T-shapes, zigzags, and crosses — and each one only slides through gaps large enough to fit it. The puzzle deepens quickly as special block states enter the mix: Ice freezes blocks solid until other pictures are cleared, Chains lock blocks until a key is delivered, Pinned blocks cannot move at all, One-way blocks travel on a single axis only, and Bombs place a live countdown directly on the board.
How to Play Picture Shift
Targets are displayed at the top of the board, and their pieces are scattered across multiple blocks. Line those pieces up correctly relative to each other and the picture snaps together automatically — the formation matters, not the position on the board. Lose all your lives by letting the timer or a bomb hit zero, but a revive on the spot is available.
Boosters
- Freeze Timer: pauses the countdown for 10 seconds
- Hammer: knocks a 1×1 chunk off a block
- Merge: slams a picture together instantly
- Free Movement: lets a block slide through everything
Tips
- Think backwards — decide which block needs to move last before touching anything
- Use the Hammer rather than rearranging; shrinking beats shoving
- Kill bombs early before they reach zero
- Chase completed pictures rather than a tidy board — every finished picture clears blocks and thaws ice
Levels and Endless Mode
- 100 handcrafted levels: a fixed sequence of designed puzzles
- Endless mode: shuffles the full deck and deals new puzzles indefinitely after the 100 levels are done
Controls
- Drag a block: slides it through empty space
- Tap a booster, then tap your target: activates the booster on a valid block (valid blocks glow)
