About Pelt Palace
Pelt Palace drops you into Tuesday night at the Pelt Palace Rec League, where you play as Tansy — a grown-up with a headband — alongside your team, the Tuesday Bunch: Gordo, Wilf, Ines, and Otis. It is five against five, foam balls only, and the opposing teams take the whole thing very seriously. Every match runs as a best of three sets, with a set going to whichever team has more players left standing.
The league spans three nights. Night 1 sends you through five fixtures against the Book Club, the Allotment Lot, Night Shift, the Early Risers, and the Showboats, then into the Pelt Palace Cup with a semi-final and a final. Night 2 opens once Night 1 is complete, and Night 3 opens the day after Night 2 is done. Matches take place across three courts — the Pelt Palace Hall, the Car Park, and the Market Hall — each carrying its own hazards. Individual fixtures add twists such as a Giant Ball, Two Balls Only, and Catch Only.
Coach Hobart calls the plays and reads from his Rulebook. Brisket of the Showboats keeps a notebook on every move Tansy makes. Chain catches and knock-outs to build HOT HAND and ON FIRE streaks for bonus XP, then level up to unlock kit colours and celebrations. Today's Special offers the same match for everyone that day, with a forgiving streak. The broadcast camera and the top view are both available, switchable from the pause menu.
How to Play Pelt Palace: Throw, Catch, and Roll
Win two of three sets to take a match. A set ends when one team has more players left standing than the other. Tansy has three core moves available at any moment.
Core Moves
- Throw: a tap sends a quick toss; holding charges a harder throw.
- Catch: with empty hands, press the catch input at the very last instant as a ball arrives — a clean catch knocks the thrower out and brings one of your teammates back onto the court.
- Roll: dodge out of the path of a hard throw.
On the Bench
When Tansy is knocked out, she watches from the bench. If a ball comes in from the crowd, the action button reads CATCH — a clean catch brings her back onto the court. Otherwise it reads CALL, which lets Tansy pick the Tuesday Bunch's next target.
