Merge Through Ages is a swap-3 defense puzzle where every decision made during the day shapes how well your castle survives the night. Swap squares on a grid to line up three matching units, build up your defenses, and then watch them fight automatically when the monster bugs descend. The loop is tight and satisfying: five swaps per day, then darkness, then chaos.

Three distinct unit types form the backbone of your defense:

• Spearmen: shoot left and right
• Catapults: shoot up and down
• Traps: hurt anything that walks over them

Match three identical units and they merge into a stronger version. Every bug that breaks through and reaches your base costs a heart. Bosses appear as you push further, and chests along with supply crates drop extra swaps and rewards. Gold earned along the way can be spent in the daily shop, and upgrading your castle extends how long it holds out each run.

How to Play Merge Through Ages: Build Units and Survive the Night

Form a line of three or more matching squares to build a unit or merge existing ones into a stronger tier. Positioning matters: Spearmen cover horizontal lanes, Catapults cover vertical ones, and Traps punish any enemy that steps onto their square.

With only five swaps available each day, every move counts. When night falls, your units fire on their own — no further input needed during combat. Each bug that reaches your base removes a heart. Open chests and supply crates whenever they appear to gain extra swaps and rewards, visit the daily shop to spend gold, and invest in castle upgrades to survive deeper into the run.
