About Cube Trap: A 3D Platformer That Lies to Your Face

Cube Trap is a 3D platformer built entirely around deception. The room looks simple — five steps to the door, level floor, no enemies. Then the floor drops out from under you the moment you start walking.

Every dirty trick in Cube Trap fires the same way every single time. The platform slides away at the exact instant you jump. The ceiling comes down the moment you stand still. The controls flip to mirror mode halfway down a corridor. Gravity turns over and the sky becomes the floor. The door you were heading for sidesteps two paces and slams shut. None of it is random; it is all deliberate and repeatable.

Death is instant and costs nothing — the little cube guy bursts into parts and half a second later he is standing at the start again. Losing is impossible. The only thing that can happen is failing to catch on.

Several scenes show a green rectangular frame containing a bubbling liquid texture that emits a vertical light beam. Rows of sharp red cones appear on top of purple and brown studded platforms across multiple views. In one scene, glowing blue rings rest on top of grey studded platforms.

How to Play Cube Trap: Reach the Green Door

The goal is to reach the green door. The hard part is that the level will fight you every step of the way.

Controls

PC

• WASD or arrow keys: move
• Space: jump (hold longer to jump higher)
• Hold mouse button and drag: rotate camera
• R: restart level
• Esc: pause

Mobile

• Touch the left half of the screen: a joystick appears; drag your finger in the direction you want to go
• Button on the right: jump (hold for higher jump)
• Swipe anywhere on the free part of the screen: rotate camera
