Chopsticks is a strategic two-handed finger battle game where outmaneuvering opponents through simple yet deep mathematical mechanics is the whole point. Both players begin with two hands, each showing one raised finger. The objective: eliminate every one of your opponent's hands before losing both of your own.
How to Play Chopsticks
Each hand starts with 1 finger. On your turn, select one of your hands as the attacker, then select any target hand — opponent's or your own — to add your finger count to it. Any hand that reaches 5 or more fingers is eliminated. Lose both hands and the round is over for you. Attacking your own hands is legal and forms part of advanced play.
Split and Undo
When only one hand remains and its finger count is even (2 or 4), the Split button lets you divide those fingers equally across both hands, bringing an eliminated hand back into play. The Back button returns to the main menu.

- One-on-one (3 levels): three separate AI opponents, each playing at a distinct skill level
- Three-player game: coalition dynamics make timing and target selection more complex

What does it mean to lose a hand in Chopsticks?
When the total finger count on a hand reaches 5 or more, that hand is eliminated from the game. Once both hands are out, that player has lost the round.
How many difficulty levels does the game have, and what sets them apart?
There are 7 difficulty levels in total: three one-on-one matches against AI opponents of increasing skill, a three-player game, a four-player game, a two-on-two team match, and a two-on-three team match. More opponents mean more gameplay options and longer rounds.
When can you use the Split move?
Split is available only when one hand is eliminated and the remaining hand holds an even number of fingers — either 2 or 4. Activating it divides those fingers equally, restoring both hands to play.
How does coalition play work in three- and four-player modes?
In the three-player game, opponents may unite against a single target, so you never know when they'll coordinate attacks. This danger grows in the four-player mode, where multiple opponents shifting alliances make every decision riskier.
