How to Play Master Checkers: Diagonal Moves, Captures, and Kings

All movement happens on dark squares, which means every piece travels diagonally. Single pieces are restricted to moving forward, toward the opponent's side of the board.

Capturing Pieces

• Capture an opponent's piece by jumping over it and landing on the diagonal square directly beyond it.
• Only one piece can be taken in a single jump.
• Multiple jumps are allowed within one move, letting a single piece chain captures across the board.
• Captures are mandatory — if a jump is available, it must be taken.

Becoming a King

• When a piece reaches the row furthest from the player who controls it, it is crowned a king.
• Kings can move both forward and backward diagonally, unlike standard pieces.
