Hellgate 1993 is a fast, retro-inspired first-person shooter set inside a dying horror-sci-fi facility. The campaign spans eight hostile worlds, each built around three stages: two combat missions followed by a boss encounter. New enemy types appear throughout the campaign, and the mission driving everything forward is to bring the light back to the last surviving human signal.

Several scenes show the game's pixel-art visual style rendered from a first-person perspective. One scene places the player in a corridor lit by a vivid red glow.

How to Play Hellgate 1993: Fight Through Eight Worlds and Face Every Boss

Progress through each world by surviving two combat missions and then defeating the boss that closes it out. Along the way, manage health, armor, ammo, keys, and your arsenal carefully as the enemy roster grows more varied. Hidden supplies are scattered throughout stages, and activating terminals can open new paths. Keycards unlock sealed sectors, and explosive barrels can damage enemies — though they will hurt you too if you are standing too close when they go off.
