About Braveward

Braveward puts the crown on your head but keeps the sword out of your hands. As king, the battlefield is never yours to command directly — instead, the game revolves around persuading warriors, rangers, rogues, healers, and mages to act on your behalf through gold and bounties. The result is a voxel kingdom strategy where the heroes have minds of their own, weighing risk against reward before they move a single step. Several scenes show clusters of blocky structures with white walls and red, green, or blue roofs arranged around intersecting tan paths on bright green ground.

How to Play Braveward

Rule from the throne, not the battlefield. The core loop is indirect: construct guilds beside your castle, hire hero types, then post bounties on monsters and dens — ordering an attack, a scouting run, or a guard assignment. Heroes who find the reward worth the danger will take the job. Build a Market and a Tavern so the gold your heroes spend cycles back to you as taxes.

The Five Daily Phases

Each day runs from dawn to night across five phases. During daylight, explore ruins for loot and prepare your defenses. When a messenger warns of a siege, raise watchtowers on the threatened side. At night every den activates and the Troll Warlord marches on your castle. Keep the castle standing until sunrise to win the day, after which a new and harder day begins. If the castle falls, the game is over.

Spells

When pressure mounts, cast spells directly from the castle: Heal, Royal Shield, and Rally are available from the start. Build a Mage Tower to unlock Lightning and Gold Rain.
