About Barricade Arena: Fast Tactical Board Game for Two
Barricade Arena is a fast tactical board game for two players built around a single sharp tension: every turn, move your pawn one square forward or spend one of your ten walls to stretch your opponent's route. Walls are two squares long and slot into the grooves between squares, but the rules forbid completely sealing off any player's path — so every placement is a calculated delay, never a dead end.
Beyond the core two-player match, Barricade Arena offers online play against real opponents from around the world, private room codes for challenging a friend, and bot opponents ranging from Easy to Hard. Special modes include 4-player Crown Rush, Lava Arena, 2v2 Teams, Blitz, and a Titan challenge. A Daily Wall puzzle and a 60-level Puzzle Path round out the solo content, while unlockable pawn skins, wall themes, and boards reward progress through the arenas.
How to Play Barricade Arena
The goal is straightforward: be the first to bring your pawn to the opposite side of the board. On each turn, exactly one action is taken.
Move or Place a Wall
- Move: Select one of the highlighted squares adjacent to your pawn. When an opponent stands directly in front of you, jumping over them is allowed.
- Wall: Take a wall from the wall tray and place it in a groove between squares. Each wall spans two squares and forces your opponent onto a longer route. With ten walls total, every placement counts.
The Wall Rule
No wall placement may completely block a player's path to the goal. A wall can lengthen the journey significantly, but a route must always remain open.
Controls
- Click (mouse/touchpad): Select a glowing square to move your pawn, or click a wall then click a groove to place it.
- Click and drag (mouse/touchpad): Drag a wall from the wall tray onto a groove between squares.
- Tap and drag (touch): Tap a glowing square to move, or drag a wall from the tray to a groove.
- Esc or right-click: Cancel a wall placement in progress.
