About Lastlight: Zombie Survival

Lastlight: Zombie Survival puts you in charge of Haven, a small living city clinging to survival at the edge of a fallen world. A single northern road is all that stands between the city and growing zombie hordes, and every night that road becomes a battleground. The Town Hall anchors everything — ten upgrade levels that progressively strengthen the hall itself, expand the wall, open more guard posts, and unlock better equipment. Explosive kills send stylized zombie parts flying, and the dawn brings a moment to breathe, count the night's earnings, and prepare for what comes next.

How to Play Lastlight: Zombie Survival

Building Defenses

Four glowing tower pads mark where defenses can be placed. Towers reach level five initially; pushing them higher requires the matching Town Hall level. The compact Town Hall and Wall badges open full numeric HP and management panels — the Town Hall panel also displays armor and available upgrades. At Town Hall five, select five residents and spend scrap to begin Aegis cannon construction; the cannon stays inactive until five successful nights of building are completed. Later Aegis upgrades require Hall levels six through ten and take ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, and fourteen successful nights respectively, with the previous weapon level continuing to fire during any upgrade.

Managing Residents and Guard Posts

Each Hall level expands resident capacity and unlocks additional guard posts: eight at level one, twelve at level two, then four more per level up to thirty-two at level five and beyond. Older saved guards keep their posts automatically. The Residents count at the top of the screen matches the assignable residents shown in Survivors; Haven's additional townspeople are listed separately. Assign each resident's duty through the Survivors panel — only wall guards shoot. Assigning wall repair duty and returning a repair worker to guard duty are both free; all other duty changes cost twenty scrap. 4 HP per second. Repair workers never restore the Town Hall. Training engineers improves paid repairs, and training scavengers increases dawn income.

Crafting and Equipping Weapons

In the Workshop, craft a blueprint and upgrade it within the current Hall cap; the maximum weapon level is ten. The crafted weapon becomes the default for future guards. Existing guards keep their current weapons and can freely equip any other unlocked weapon at any time.

Running Each Night

Start the night manually when ready. Zombies arrive from the north and all defenses fire automatically. Only wall guards, towers, and an operational Aegis cannon participate in combat. Every zombie kill earns two scrap immediately. A breach allows zombies to enter the city; the run ends only when Town Hall HP reaches zero. At dawn, a guaranteed supply payout is credited separately, then choose one of three extra rewards. The night recap displays kills, combat income, dawn income, and the total for that night.

Saving and Pausing

Pausing and city management freeze combat and preparation, though visible automatic battles continue running. Backgrounding or platform interruptions also pause the game. Open the pause menu and choose Save City for a manual checkpoint; its status indicator shows saving or completion, and automatic saving remains active. A fallen saved city offers a fresh preview while its personal record and saved data remain intact until a new city is confirmed.
