Escape the Monster
About Escape the Monster
Escape the Monster drops you at the bottom of a monster's lair with fifty floors of maze standing between you and the surface. Each floor holds a single exit, and the monster hunting you moves faster the longer you linger. Four distinct monsters live in the lair, each with its own hunting behavior — some chase directly, some lie in wait, and one passes straight through walls. On dark floors, sight gives way to sound: the music shifts to warn you something is close.
Gems scattered through the maze can be spent on cloaks, lanterns, and masks. Nine items cannot be purchased and must be earned through play. A mask, when carried, stuns the next monster that touches you rather than costing a life. Some floors lock the exit until you locate the crown. Clear all fifty floors and you reach the garden. After floor nine, Endless mode opens — floors keep generating and the only measure that matters is how deep you climb.
How to Play Escape the Monster
The goal on every floor is the green door. Three hearts keep you alive, and each floor cleared brings you one step closer to the surface. Every tenth floor is a safe floor — no monster, and a chance to spend collected gems on hearts or unlock new looks between runs.
The monster accelerates the longer you remain on a floor, so keep moving. On floors with a locked exit, find the crown first. Picking up a mask means the next monster contact stuns it instead of costing a heart. Endless mode runs indefinitely after floor nine, feeding into a leaderboard.
