About Aisles of the Locust

Aisles of the Locust drops you into a vast, half-lit supermarket with a shopping cart and a list to fill. The premise is deceptively mundane — collect every item on the list and wheel it back to the tills — but the aisles are shared with the Locust, a blind creature that tracks its prey entirely by sound. Every creak of the cart, every sprint, every collision with a shelf is a dinner bell. The game builds its dread through restraint: slow movement, careful planning, and the creeping awareness that noise is the enemy.

The threat escalates with each passing day. Every five minutes the lights cut out, and in the dark every sound carries further. New dangers arrive on subsequent days — soldiers, a mannequin that only moves when you look away, and a ghost shopper you must never stare at. Between days, upgrades can be purchased, strange shoppers can be helped with their errands, and new carts and classes can be unlocked.

How to Play Aisles of the Locust

The goal each day is to collect every product on the shopping list and wheel the cart to the green zone at the tills. Clearing the list ends the day and opens the upgrade shop before the next one begins.

Managing the Locust

The Locust is completely blind and relies on sound to hunt. Running, a rattling cart, and crashing into shelves all attract it. When the screen edges darken and a heartbeat becomes audible, the Locust is close — that is the signal to sneak, hold position, or duck behind shelving. At night, running can be heard from much greater distances, so route planning becomes critical after the lights go out.

Daily Threats

    • The Locust — blind stalker that hunts entirely by sound
    • Soldiers — arrive on later days
    • A mannequin that moves only when you look away
    • A ghost shopper that must not be stared at

Progression Between Days

After clearing a day's list, upgrades are available for purchase before the next day starts. Helping strange shoppers with their errands and unlocking new carts and classes are also part of the between-day loop.

Games You Might Like

Aisles of the Locust sits squarely in the survival games category, where careful resource management and staying alive under pressure define every session. If the sound-based stalker and flashlight tension appeal to you, The Tall Man delivers a similar first-person horror experience — collecting scattered pages in a dark forest while something unseen closes in. For survival with a floor-by-floor structure and resource scavenging, Sky Hill: Original tasks you with descending a disaster-struck hotel while avoiding monsters and managing supplies.

Fans of tense hide-and-seek horror will also find plenty in the Granny Games series, where a dangerous pursuer forces quiet, methodical play, and the Hello Neighbor Games series blends stealth and puzzle-solving against an unpredictable AI opponent. The broader horror games collection covers everything from atmospheric dread to outright scares, while simulation games offer a different angle on everyday settings turned strange.
