Backrooms with a friend drops you into the yellow world known as the Backrooms, a disorienting maze where the only objective is to find the door out. The game runs solo or as local co-op on the same device, letting two players race and scheme against each other while navigating the same labyrinth. Several scenes show golden-yellow brick walls forming horizontal and vertical corridors above a tan tiled floor. In one scene, a circular creature covered in numerous blue eyes and a pinkish fleshy texture appears in the maze. Another moment reveals a dark square creature ringed by many small pinkish hand-like protrusions.
The competitive edge sets this apart from a straightforward escape: a second player can lure monsters into a corner to slow their opponent down, turning a cooperative setting into a tense rivalry.

Both players are trapped in the Backrooms and must avoid scary monsters while hunting for the exit door. The goal is to reach the door that leads out of this dimension before your opponent does. Trick your friend by steering monsters toward them, or focus on navigating the maze and finding the exit first.
