Card Soccer takes an ordinary deck and turns it into a soccer match. Each card becomes a defender or goalkeeper standing between you and the goal, and every rank you beat pushes you one step closer to scoring. The game blends the familiar hierarchy of a card deck with the structure of a one-on-one soccer duel, producing something that feels both instantly recognizable and genuinely surprising.

How to Play Card Soccer: Beat Defenders, Score Goals

Each player starts with 26 cards split into a specific formation: one goalkeeper, three defenders, and the remaining cards held in a personal deck. The goal is to outscore your opponent; the player with the most goals at the end wins, and equal scores result in a draw.

Attack and Card Ranks

On your turn, the card shown in the center is your attacking card. Higher ranks beat lower ones — with two exceptions: a two beats an ace, and a three beats a king. Suits carry no weight at all. After each successful play, your next card appears automatically, and you keep attacking until you either choose to stop or run out of valid moves.

Breaking Through to Goal

To score, beat all three defenders and then the goalkeeper. The path is sequential: the back line must fall before the goalkeeper is exposed. After a goal, the player who conceded takes the next attack.

War and Turn Decisions

When two cards of equal rank meet, a war begins — both players reveal cards until one side wins. Win the war and the attack continues; lose it, and your opponent collects all cards from that exchange and takes the next turn. At any point you may select "Skip" to end your attack voluntarily, and the attack also ends automatically when no valid move remains.

Deck and Match End

Cards you win go to your discard pile. When your deck runs out, that discard pile is shuffled into a fresh deck, keeping the match alive. If either player still cannot draw a card to continue after that shuffle, the match ends and goals are counted.
