About Zasteroid: Fast-Paced 2D Roguelike Space Shooter

Zasteroid is a 2D top-down space shooter built around roguelike progression, where every run produces a different build and every death sends you straight back for another attempt. Pilot a starship through endless waves of quirky space enemies — meteors, fast-striking interceptors, heavy tanks, kamikazes, and colossal bosses that arrive every five waves. One scene shows small white dots and faint purple nebulae scattered across a black background. The ship fires automatically at all times, so movement and positioning are the entire game: dodge incoming fire, chase XP crystals, and keep building toward the next level-up.

How to Play Zasteroid: Survive Waves and Build Your Run

The objective is to survive endless enemy waves and defeat the boss that appears every fifth wave. Destroyed enemies drop XP crystals; filling the XP bar triggers a level-up. When that happens, the game slows down and presents three random upgrade cards — pick one to shape your build. With 20+ upgrade cards available, including piercing lasers, homing missiles, wide-spread shot, reactive shields, speed boosts, and magnet range expansions, each run plays out differently depending on the choices made along the way.

Enemies also drop coins, and coins are permanent — they carry over through death. Spend them in the Hangar to unlock new ships, each with unique stats, and to purchase permanent upgrades such as extra hull, engine tuning, and weapon calibration. Grazing enemy bullets charges a Super Weapon, and completing the bonus objective shown on screen each wave earns extra coins.
