Seven Down
About Seven Down: Rolling-Die Puzzle Built on One Rule
Seven Down is a rolling-die puzzle game whose entire logic rests on a single principle: the face touching the ground is your active number, and opposite faces of a die always sum to seven — so the face you cannot see is always the one you are able to calculate. A six-sided die with black pips is the character the player controls across every mode. Floating platforms made of square tiles in green, brown, blue, and black appear across the game's boards, some fitted with upright metal spikes. Several low-blue-grey iceberg shapes float in the background of certain scenes. Every texture, every piece of music, and every board is generated as the game runs, so it works offline and always will.
Three distinct games are built on that one die rule. Puzzle offers 60 hand-checked boards plus a daily challenge that is identical for every player: reaching the target pad is straightforward, but arriving on the specific face it demands is the real puzzle, and your number is decided entirely by the route you chose. Action delivers 120 stages spread across six places, with hazards hunting you — gaps, spikes, crumbling tiles, sweeping arms, conveyor belts, and turrets — alongside powers you collect by landing on the number each power requires. Maze presents 60 dark labyrinths where only the area near you is visible, and every tile you have already crossed stays uncovered.
Par is never guessed. Every level is verified by a solver before it ships, so the shortest route is always reachable and matching it always carries meaning.
How to Play Seven Down
Roll the die across the board and track the face pressing against the ground — that hidden number is the one that counts, and because opposite sides always add to seven, you are able to always work it out. In Puzzle mode the goal is to reach the pad on the exact face it specifies, which means planning your route before you move. In Action mode the die keeps rolling for as long as you hold the movement key, and you must navigate gaps, spikes, crumbling tiles, sweeping arms, conveyor belts, and turrets across 120 stages. In Maze mode the board is dark except for tiles you have already visited, and your path gradually uncovers the labyrinth around you.
Powers in Action Mode
- Bridge: lay a crossing over a gap
- Guard: blunt the spikes
- Shield: survive one hit
Each power is collected by landing on the number it requires.
