About Free If Late

Free If Late is the craziest food delivery duel in town: order a meal, and if it shows up late, you eat for free. HarpalOnSoftware built two completely opposite roles into one game — the Hungry Customer who wants the delivery to fail, and the Delivery Hero who needs to beat the clock. Every level drops a new city map, and the whole thing is drawn in a wobbly hand-crafted sketch style with every sprite code-drawn and all audio synthesized in code — no stock assets.

How to Play Free If Late

Pick a side, choose a restaurant, and place your order. A 3-2-1 countdown kicks off each round.

Customer Mode

Tap any road tile to drop the currently selected trap — roadblock, oil slick, pothole, red light, or parade. Tap an existing trap to remove it for a partial refund. Rain and dog chases are triggered via their own buttons. Push the rider past the timer to eat free and level up.

Rider Mode

Swipe or press the arrow or WASD keys to steer at intersections. Hold BOOST for extra speed. When the fury meter is full, activate RAMPAGE. On mud shortcuts, time your passage carefully — a raised nail pops your tire. Deliver before the timer runs out to win.

Coins & Day/Night

Whoever wins the round earns coins, which go toward traps, smashing, boosting, and upgrading vehicles. Night mode pays 2x tips but forces you to ride by headlights only.
