Downspire
About Downspire: Portrait Dungeon Crawler with Permanent Upgrades
Downspire is a portrait-oriented dungeon crawler built around a single recurring tension: go deeper or get out. Every room presents a genuine decision — read partial route clues, survive combat and hazards that resolve on their own, then choose whether to bank your coins or press further into the dungeon. Milestone bosses mark the path downward, and a leaderboard tracks who has reached the deepest floor.
Several scenes show a wooden door with grey vertical bars and a circular lock centered on the bottom wall. Scattered white bone-shaped fragments and a skull appear on the floor across multiple views of the dungeon.
How to Play Downspire: Explore, Survive, and Bank Your Coins
From the guild stations, select Explore Dungeon to begin a run. Three route cards appear, each offering partial clues about what lies ahead — pick one and combat resolves automatically. Clear a room and the core choice arrives: bank your coins now or risk descending another floor. Banked coins fund permanent upgrades and supplies between runs. Milestone bosses punctuate the descent, and the deepest-floor leaderboard records how far each run goes.
Two key supplies shape how far a run can go:
- Smoke Bomb: escapes a revealed fight
- Resurrection Stone: revives you after death
Controls
- Touch or mouse: select guild stations and buttons
- Enter or Space: start (keyboard players)
