Scary Backrooms drops you into a territory overrun by scary nextbots — relentless hunters prowling the dark in constant search of victims. The goal is straightforward but nerve-wracking: gather every note scattered through the maze and reach the exit before the nextbots find you. Several scenes show rough grey stone-textured walls forming corridors that open onto sandy-colored floor areas. A yellow circular face with a wide toothy grin and black eyes floats through the environment in several scenes. One area shows red brick walls enclosing a flat grey paved space beneath a pitch-black sky.

How to Play Scary Backrooms

Collect all the notes spread throughout the Backrooms, then head to the exit — a closed door. The nextbots are always moving through the dark, so avoiding any encounter with them is just as critical as finding every note. Luck plays a real part in surviving this territory.
