About Pocket Tile: Compact Number-Merging Puzzle on a 5×5 Board

Pocket Tile is a compact number-merging puzzle built around a 5×5 board. The goal is straightforward — place tiles, connect matching ones, and merge them into higher values — but planning ahead is what separates a good run from a great one. A 5×5 grid of rounded squares sits at the center of the play area, visible across multiple views of the game. Three distinct modes keep the experience varied: a shared Daily Puzzle, a 50-level Adventure mode with increasingly challenging goals, and a Rank Game where a blank board and a leaderboard score are the only stakes. Break tiles and Clone tiles add tactical depth beyond the core merge loop, and optional special moves are available when a board gets tight.

How to Play Pocket Tile: Place, Connect, and Merge

Each turn, place the current tile into any empty space on the 5×5 board. A Next tile preview shows what is coming, so there is always one step of foresight available. Once three orthogonally adjacent tiles share the same number and color, select all three and tap one of them again to choose exactly where the upgraded tile will land. Diagonal tiles do not connect — only orthogonal neighbors count.

Merging and Scoring

• Three 1 tiles merge into a 2, three 2 tiles merge into a 3, and the pattern continues upward.
• A normal merge scores the value of the newly created tile.
• Both number and color must match for a merge to be valid.

Special Tile Types

• Mint tiles: marked with a circle; both number and color must match to connect.
• Violet tiles: marked with a diamond; same matching rules apply.
• Break tiles: point toward a neighboring tile and lower a matching-color number by one, or remove it entirely if its value is 1. If no valid target is present, the Break tile waits until one arrives.
• Clone tiles: copy the matching-color number in the space they point toward. Like Break tiles, they wait if no valid number is present.

Game Modes

• Daily Puzzle: a shared puzzle available to all players each day.
• Adventure: 50 levels with increasingly challenging goals; complete the displayed tile goal before the board runs out of moves.
• Rank Game: start from a blank board and compete for a leaderboard score.

Play continues until no legal placements or merges remain. Optional special moves can rescue a difficult board when the position becomes critical.

• Tap or click: place tiles, select matching tiles, choose where the merged tile remains, and interact with buttons.
