Monster Rush: Evolution drops you onto a kingdom island as a small monster with one clear objective: eat everything smaller than you and become the largest creature before time runs out. Peasants, trees, rocks, houses, and squads of knights all count as food, and rival monsters roam the same island — smaller ones are prey, bigger ones are threats. The monster standing tallest when the clock expires wins the round.

What separates Monster Rush: Evolution from a simple size-race is the mutation draft. Every time you grow, the action pauses and you pick one of three mutation cards, shaping your monster along the Predator, Glutton, or Titan branch. Eighteen mutations spread across those three branches, and committing to a branch unlocks a golden apex mutation on top. Because the draft is random and rivals make different choices, two rounds rarely unfold the same way.

Beyond individual rounds, a full kingdom map stretches across 4 regions with 10 islands each, and every island carries its own goal and up to three stars to earn. Stars unlock new regions, codex entries, and star chests. Round modifiers — night, meteors, gold rush, stampede, and more — keep returning to the same island feeling different each time.

How to Play Monster Rush: Evolution

Movement and Eating

Move your monster by dragging anywhere on the screen or by using WASD or the arrow keys. The number displayed on each object or creature tells you whether it is safe to eat: anything with a smaller number than yours becomes food, and anything larger is a danger to avoid. Eating grows your monster, which in turn raises your number and opens up new targets across the island.

Using Abilities

Each of the four monster forms — GROKK, SKARRA, FROSTFANG, and IGNIS — carries a distinct ability: slam, dash, roar, or fire breath respectively. Activate your form's ability by tapping the ability button or pressing Space.

Mutation Draft

Each time your monster grows enough to trigger a draft, three mutation cards appear. Select a card by tapping it or pressing 1, 2, or 3. Choosing cards within the same branch — Predator, Glutton, or Titan — works toward that branch's golden apex mutation.

Island Goals and Progression

Each island on the kingdom map has a specific goal. Earning stars on islands opens new regions and unlocks codex entries and star chests. After the 40 mapped islands, endless islands continue the challenge. Castles on the map feature boulder-throwing towers, and a boss monster guards the end of each region.
