How to Play BattleSnakes

Core Combat Loop

Control the snake head with your mouse. Left Mouse Button steers. Right Mouse Button aims your mounted turrets. Double-Click Right Mouse Button to unleash fire. Sweep the arena for energy orbs. Each orb adds XP. Hit thresholds like 300 XP at Level 1. Level up. Your snake grows a new armored segment. That segment carries a weapon.

Tactical Progression System

Every level unlocks a choice. Pick one of three upgrades. Shield Generator adds durability. Turn Speed Boost sharpens maneuverability. New Weapon Module changes your firepower. Early game? Grab the Minigun for rapid spray. Mid-game? Switch to the Howitzer for devastating single shots. Each weapon reshapes your combat style. Adapt or die.

Visual Damage & Enemy Reads

Watch the enemy armor. BattleSnakes uses a visual damage system. When you land hits, enemy segments darken. Dark segments = low durability. Target them. Focus fire. Break their spine. A crippled snake is a dead snake. Use this intel to pick fights. Avoid full-health titans. Hunt weakened prey.

Pro Strategy

Ignore small orbs early. Hunt players below Level 3. They drop massive XP bounties. Circle strafing works—keep moving while firing. Use the hex grid for predictive shots. Lead your targets.
