Traffic Gap: Merge Rush drops you at the merge point of a busy ring road, where a queue of vehicles waits for the right moment to join the flow. The entire game turns on one decision — tap when a gap opens, or hold back and wait. Green chevrons stretched across the road tell you a gap will reach you in time; red chevrons warn you off, though the source notes red is sometimes over-cautious, leaving room to gamble. Get the timing wrong and the crash scatters parts across the tarmac.

The game spans 264 levels built across 33 distinct loop shapes: circle, capsule, egg, trefoil, clover, and a figure of eight complete with a real flyover. Traffic runs clockwise or anticlockwise, and cars feed onto the loop from the bottom or from the top. Several scenes show dark blue roads marked with dashed white centre lines and solid light blue outer edges. Blue semi-transparent circular clouds with scattered white flecks appear around several moving vehicles in a number of views. One environment features a stark white ground peppered with small teal rounded shapes and thin grey poles.

A tap or click sends the next car in the queue rolling onto the loop. The whole game is about reading the chevrons at the merge point and committing at the right instant. Green never lies; red is sometimes over-cautious, so a calculated gamble on a red chevron can pay off.

Reading the Queue

The queue below the merge point shows who is coming next. A bus or a lorry needs a much wider gap than a small car, so looking ahead at the upcoming vehicle changes how aggressively you time each entry.

Earning Stars

Stars are not about speed — they are about attention. What counts is missed chances: moments when the indicator turned green and you did not tap. Miss none of those green windows and you earn three stars.

Special Vehicles and Weather

The special vehicles each alter the traffic column in a distinct way. The racer speeds everybody up: it honks, flashes its lights, and a wave of acceleration runs up the column. The police do the opposite, pressing speed down, and fast drivers leave the loop as soon as a police vehicle appears. The taxi surges forward, then loses interest. A red light builds a queue that then bursts forward all at once. On top of that, a puddle slows your car at the merge point, and ice pushes it on.
