Aroeira: Night of Cordel
About Aroeira: Night of Cordel
Aroeira: Night of Cordel is a survivor-like action game drawn from Brazilian cordel poetry, woodcut art, folklore, and the supernatural sertão. The goal is stark and urgent: survive the night, defeat the Dono do Breu, and bring back the dawn. Combat is relentless — endless creatures close in while the story unfolds through cordel-style verses narrated during gameplay, so playing with audio on is strongly recommended. One scene shows a building with a bell tower and a cross at its peak, surrounded by a low wooden fence.
How to Play Aroeira: Night of Cordel — Survive 10 Minutes and Defeat the Final Boss
The run lasts 10 minutes. Hold out that long and the Dono do Breu appears as the final boss. Throughout those minutes, defeating creatures drops XP; collecting it triggers level-ups that each offer a choice of 3 skill upgrades. Builds take shape through a combination of active and passive skills drawn from a pool of 14 skills, each with 5 levels. Some companions and skills attack enemies or gather XP on your behalf. Upgrading Life, Damage, Cooldown, Critical, and Luck extends how long a run can last.
