SCP: Survive drops you into the role of a Class-D personnel caught in the middle of a catastrophic containment breach. The anomalies are loose, the facility is in chaos, and your single objective is to survive long enough to reach the surface. The game moves through three distinct zones—each darker and more dangerous than the last—as you search for keycards, interact with objects, and navigate threats that include some of the SCP Foundation's most notorious entities.

The Light Containment Zone is where you wake up: white walls, uniform corridors, and SCP-173 already present. The Heavy Containment Zone swallows light entirely, with SCP-049 searching for new patients and SCP-106 hunting from the shadows. The Entrance Zone is the final barrier before freedom—though whether you find the way out or become part of the Foundation posthumously is far from guaranteed.

Several scenes show the facility's stark, institutional corridors rendered in clean 3D graphics. One scene places the player in a dimly lit passage where darkness presses in from every direction.

Survival in SCP: Survive depends on understanding the facility's rules and the behaviors of the SCPs you encounter. The blinking mechanic sits at the heart of the experience: every few seconds, the character will inevitably blink, and SCP-173 exploits exactly that moment. Managing when and how you blink—using the dedicated blink input—is central to staying alive in the Light Containment Zone.

Beyond avoiding SCP-173, the game asks you to search for keycards, useful objects, and documents scattered throughout the facility. These items help you understand what is happening and open paths forward. SCP-914 can be used to upgrade your keycard, and there is the possibility of convincing SCP-049 that you are not infected. Reaching the surface means working through all three zones—Light Containment, Heavy Containment, and Entrance—each with its own secrets and threats.
