Hook the Star is a one-button swinging game where you control a stickman on a rope, timing your grip and release to fly across each level. The goal is simple to grasp but satisfying to execute: grab a hook, build momentum, let go at the right moment, and land where you need to be. Dozens of short levels play out under day and night skies, keeping the pace brisk. Several scenes show the stickman suspended mid-swing against open sky backdrops. The physics are deliberately floppy — ragdoll behavior means your stickman flails and tumbles in ways that stay entertaining even when a run goes wrong. A ghost of your best run appears alongside you, giving every attempt a built-in rival to chase.

How to Play Hook the Star: Swing, Collect, and Beat Your Best Time

Each level asks you to reach the finish on the right side. Along the way, trampolines bounce your stickman and stars are scattered across the path. Collecting all three stars in a single run earns the level's big blue star, and those blue stars unlock later levels. Coins you earn go toward outfits in the shop, where you are able to dress your stickman. Falling to the bottom restarts the level instantly, so runs stay short and the retry loop is fast. A ghost of your personal best run races alongside you, so beating your own time is always on the table.
