Paper io is an io-genre game built around capturing territory. Like Agar.io and Slither.io, it drops players into a competitive arena where the goal is to claim as much ground as possible while cutting down rivals. The player controls one of several heroes — Noob, Pro, Huggy Wuggy, Kissy Missy, Hacker, Zombie, and others — each leaving a trail of slime or a drawn line across the field as they move.
Several scenes show large irregular shapes spread across an off-white floor in colors including pink, purple, dark blue, and forest green. A green vehicle with orange stripes and a blue seat also appears across the game's views, leaving a light gray trail behind it as it moves.
