Outpost Siege is a top-down survival shooter built around base defense. Each night, an alien swarm advances on your Outpost's Core, and your job is to keep that Core alive while mowing down hundreds of enemies across two arenas. Between waves, the game shifts into a building phase where turret placement and stratagem purchases shape every run differently. Six Operators, each with their own skills, bring distinct approaches to the same relentless pressure, and 29 achievements give long-term goals to chase.
Scrap doubles as both currency and experience, so every enemy you cut down feeds directly into your progression. Level-ups let you pick from weapons — blades, lightning, rockets, fire aura, scattergun, frost — or upgrades that can push those weapons to their evolution. The day phase adds a strategic layer: build and evolve turrets around the Core in limited slots, buy stratagems like airstrikes, minefields, or a Core shield, and repair damage before the next wave hits. Clear all ten nights, survive the boss finale, and the Sector is yours. A new Daily Operation refreshes every day, and permanent upgrades wait in the Workshop, purchased with Alloys earned along the way.
The goal is to keep the Core alive through every night and defeat the boss on the final night to clear the Sector. A boss also arrives every fifth night, so the pressure builds well before the finale.
Move your Operator around the arena while the weapon fires automatically at the nearest enemy. Focus fire on a specific target by selecting it directly. Collect Scrap dropped by enemies to level up, then choose a new weapon or upgrade from the options presented. Use your skill and dash at the right moments, and deploy stratagems — airstrike, minefield, Core shield — as the situation demands.
Spend the Scrap you've gathered to build or upgrade turrets in the limited slots around the Core, repair Core damage, and buy stratagems to prepare for the next night. Slot choices are real decisions: every build reflects the constraints of those limited positions.
After clearing a Sector, spend Alloys in the Workshop on permanent upgrades. Return each day for the Daily Operation, a fresh challenge that keeps the game active beyond individual runs.
If the auto-firing, wave-survival loop of Outpost Siege appeals to you, Piggy Heist delivers a similar survivor-like structure — automatic weapons, level-up choices, and permanent upgrades between runs — wrapped in a cartoon heist setting. For more horde-stopping strategy, Merge Defense: Army Behind the Wall tasks you with merging warriors to hold back monster waves, echoing Outpost Siege's emphasis on smart unit placement. Booblyc TD: Card Tower Defense adds a card-based twist to tower defense, with repositionable defenders and over 80 collectible cards that make each run feel distinct — much like Outpost Siege's weapon evolution choices. Fans of deep build-crafting will find Spellshot rewarding, a pixel idle RPG with ten chapters, gear affixes, and a talent tree that rewards the same min-maxing mindset Outpost Siege encourages in the Workshop.
