Mosaicat is a single-player puzzle game where every move you make reveals a piece of a picture hidden beneath the board. The goal is to cut the entire grid into rectangles, guided by numbers that tell you exactly how large each rectangle must be. Place a rectangle correctly and the tiles it covered transform into part of an image you have not seen yet — a cactus, a teapot, a small orange cat — built out of your moves rather than revealed all at once at the end.
There is no timer, no lives, and nothing to lose. A rectangle that does not fit is simply refused, and you try a different shape or position. The game waits as long as you need. With 757 puzzles — each verified by machine to have exactly one solution — no board ever comes down to guessing. Puzzles start small enough to learn on and grow more demanding as you progress. Once you reach the end, they cycle back as new puzzles on the same pictures.
Ten colour themes, both light and dark, let you adjust the look of the board. And when you finish a puzzle, a cat called Tuna turns up to mark the occasion.
The board is covered in tiles, and some carry a number. That number is the exact size of the rectangle it belongs to — a 6 means the rectangle covering that square must be exactly six tiles, which could be 1×6, 2×3, 3×2, or 6×1.
Pick a number, work out where its rectangle can fit, then drag across the grid to draw it and release to place it. The tiles it covered turn into part of the hidden picture. Repeat until the entire board is filled. A rectangle that does not belong is refused — nothing is lost and nothing is counted against you, so draw another.
When a board will not open, the hint button opens one rectangle for you. Three hints are available, and after those are used a short video buys another.
If the number-guided logic of Mosaicat appeals to you, the broader world of puzzle games on Playgama has plenty more grid-based and logic challenges to explore. Numicolor shares Mosaicat's idea of uncovering images through number-driven decisions, this time via a colour-by-number format with a growing collection of themed pictures. For something with a different kind of board-clearing satisfaction, Arrow Puzzle tasks you with removing arrows in the correct order to clear maze-like grids, with daily challenges and a hint system that will feel familiar to Mosaicat players.
Mosaicat also sits comfortably alongside arcade games for players who enjoy short, focused sessions with clear rules and immediate feedback.
