Granny Original is a first-person horror escape puzzle developed by Barabaha. Trapped inside the house of a deranged old woman, you wake in a dark locked room with nothing but a flashlight — and five days to find a way out. The main door is sealed with multiple locks, and every key, every item, every puzzle piece is somewhere in that house. Granny hears everything: dropped objects, creaking floorboards, a single careless footstep. When she hears a sound, she runs straight to it. Beyond her, the house holds traps and pets that make each attempt its own kind of tense. A weapon exists, but it only stuns her briefly — escape, not confrontation, is the goal.
Solve the house's puzzles to unlock the main door and escape before your five attempts run out. Figure out which key opens which lock, what to do with the watermelon, how to use the book, and more — the solutions aren't handed to you. Dropped items make noise, so handle everything deliberately. Hide under beds, in closets, and in chests when Granny closes in. If she catches you, a new day begins, but progress on already-unlocked locks carries over. When your fifth attempt ends with Granny in sight and nowhere to hide, the game is lost. There are several escape routes, including one through a garage. Play with headphones for full immersion.
A new in-game day begins, but any locks you already opened stay unlocked. Progress resets fully only after a final loss or a complete restart, at which point item locations are randomized.
Granny hunts by sound and sprints to wherever she heard a noise, so silence is survival. At the same time, you can hear her approaching footsteps and use that warning to hide before she arrives.
In Practice mode (No Granny difficulty), Granny is not in the house, giving you the freedom to explore and experiment with items without her interference — though the house is not entirely safe from other dangers.
Comfortable shoes increase the character's movement speed and make footsteps quieter, directly reducing the chance that Granny hears you moving through the house.
