Frostport drops you into the life of Kai Holm, who returns to his harbour hometown for the winter only to find it under threat. The town sits at the base of a ski mountain, bordered by a frozen lake and a fjord packed with ice, with a car-free Ski Village perched at the top of the lift. Magnus Strand's mining company, NorrCo, is blasting the mountain, drilling under the lake, and buying up the town property by property. Their hired snowmobile crew, the Wolfpack, intimidates anyone who refuses to sell.
The world spans two distinct settlements — Frostport on the fjord and the Ski Village above — connected by a mountain full of pistes, ice walls, and lift cables. Shops, homes, and businesses populate both areas, and the whole valley opens up between story missions. Every day, one run earns the Fresh Powder designation: double trick cash for the first descent of that slope. Businesses earn while you are offline, and hidden cash stashes are scattered across the mountain for those willing to explore. The game presents its action in a cartoon style — no blood, and knocked-down characters stay down.
Twenty-one story missions drive the main conflict from the valley floor to the summit, where the whole mountain comes down. Between missions, the valley is open for side jobs from villagers, snow races, ski-patrol rescues, the Village Slalom, the Hot Cocoa Run, and the Sled Course. Every shop, home, and business is one tap away from the pause menu.
On a snowboard, carving, tucks, big air, spins, and grabs are all available, and three pistes can be ridden ahead of avalanches. The ice axe lets Kai climb ice and rock faces, and the same tool doubles as a zipline anchor on the lift cables. Street and indoor brawls use a jab-cross-kick combo against Wolfpack members and NorrCo guards.
