About Emily's Hotel Solitaire: Tropical Island Hotel-Building Card Game

Emily's Hotel Solitaire drops you into a light summer adventure on a tropical island, where the goal is bigger than just winning card hands. Emily has traveled to this heavenly place to fulfill her grandfather Douglas Kirby's dream of building his own hotel, and every level you clear brings that dream one step closer to reality. Several scenes show a tall tan building with purple pointed roof towers standing behind a circular garden path. A body of blue water with white waves meets a light yellow sandy shore in the foreground across multiple views of the game.

Between rounds, the deserted territory gradually transforms — carpets get laid, soft little sofas appear, picture galleries go up on the walls. Green parks and picturesque flowerbeds take shape, rooms become cozy, and even the menu of the Chinese restaurant gets attention. The card gameplay and the hotel construction feed each other: Stars earned on levels are what let you choose how to decorate and expand the property.

How to Play Emily's Hotel Solitaire

The core rule is straightforward: select any card from the playing field that is one value higher or one value lower than your currently drawn card, and that card is removed. Chain removals together by continuing to pick cards that sit one step above or below the last card played.

To finish a level, every card on the playing field must be cleared before your supply of draw cards runs out. Each completed level earns Stars, and those Stars are spent on decorating and building out the hotel — choosing furnishings, planting gardens, and shaping the space that was once an empty plot of land.

One scene shows six tall slender green trees with brown trunks standing in front of a building, giving a sense of the lush surroundings that grow alongside your progress.
