Postal Cipher drops you into a quiet evening at the post office, where a form on the desk holds three or four words with some letters hidden beneath stamps. The central rule is elegant: identical stamps always represent the same letter, and that relationship holds across every word on the form simultaneously. Crack one stamp in one word and that letter reveals itself everywhere it appears — deduction, not guesswork, drives the whole experience.

The game spans 96 evenings arranged across six weeks. Early on, three words appear and roughly half the letters are already visible. By the final week, four words fill the form, almost nothing is given away, and the letter rack contains extras that the words never actually use. How to Play Postal Cipher

Each form presents words with stamps covering certain letters. Because identical stamps stand for the same letter everywhere, a single correct identification ripples through every word at once, narrowing the remaining possibilities with each step. When two words share the same stamp in the same position, the range of candidates shrinks further — that overlap is where deduction sharpens.

Misses are tracked by a readout at the top of the screen, but there is no limit on how many a session can absorb. A wrong guess costs a star and nothing more; the evening continues until the cipher is fully solved. Solving a complete cipher without any misses awards three stars.

The rack below the words holds all candidate letters, including spares the words never use. Tapping blindly wastes stars, so the spare letters are a real consideration rather than harmless noise.
