Hlbina — Slovak for "the deep" — is a push-your-luck fishing game wrapped in cozy pixel art. From a small fishing village, a hook descends through increasingly dark water: the sunny Shallows and the Reefs give way to the Twilight and Midnight zones, and finally to the pitch-black Abyss. Deeper fish are worth more, but every fish on the line and every metre of depth adds tension. Push too far and the line snaps, taking the entire catch with it. Surface in time and everything is safe.
Weather, time of day, and the moon all influence what bites and where. Legendary creatures — the Storm King, the Golden Eel, and the Abyss Guardian — wait in the depths, and a second fishing spot, a flooded nuclear lake with its own strange fish, opens up alongside the Endless Deep mode. Progress saves automatically, and the game is available in eight languages: English, Slovak, Czech, German, Polish, Hungarian, Spanish, and French.
The goal is to catch fish, sell them at the Market, rebuild the fishing village, and eventually hunt the legendary creatures of the deep. On every dive, sink the hook, fight any fish that bite, and surface before the line snaps — a snapped line loses everything currently on it.
When a fish bites, a rhythm fight begins. Timing is everything — miss the beat or hit red and the fight turns against you.
Selling the catch at the Market funds construction across the village. Each building serves a distinct purpose:
Hlbina sits naturally among fishing games and the broader adventure games collection on Playgama, both worth browsing for more aquatic and exploration-driven picks. If the cozy progression loop appeals to you, Veggie Cats: Idle Farm Tycoon offers a similarly relaxed build-and-upgrade rhythm as you grow a veggie business across islands.
For a different kind of depth, Reveal Haven: Lumen Isle sends you hunting for hidden objects across a tropical island with automatic progress saving, much like Hlbina's own save system. Hidden Objects: Island also takes you to a rustic fishing village among its destinations, making it a natural companion for fans of Hlbina's seaside setting. Finally, Obby: +1 Stone Skipping shares Hlbina's water-surface tension — one throw, one chance, and a chase for distance that echoes the push-your-luck spirit of every deep dive.
