About Block Zero: Open Low-Poly City Action Game

Block Zero is a third-person action game set in an open low-poly city. Cast as a blocky mutant born of the outbreak, the player tears through an urban environment where every wall is a road to the roof and every roof is a launch pad. The city spans 64 blocks with no loading screens and no invisible walls between the rooftops. Multiple tall, rectangular buildings with colorful flat-shaded walls and small white window frames populate the urban area. In one scene, a green-skinned humanoid figure in a green jacket and dark pants stands on a gray sidewalk.

The city is divided into three zones: the quiet residential blocks, the quarantine packed with infected, and the corporate base in the north. The game opens with a leap from a rooftop straight into a crowd of infected, and that energy carries through 12 missions, medal challenges, and a daily challenge that keeps a streak and grows your claw trail.

How to Play Block Zero

Press "Play" and the first mission drops you on a rooftop above a crowd of infected. Jump down and the tutorial teaches every move on the way — fighting with borrowed mauls, absorbing enemies, throwing a car, running up a wall, and gliding. From there, Resistance terminals hand out short missions: thin out the infected, hunt down a witness, or burn out a nest that fights back in three waves. Walk up to a terminal and press E to accept. The arrow at the screen edge points to the current goal, and Q highlights mission targets through walls.

Movement and Traversal

  • Sprint into a wall to run straight up it.
  • Tap Space for a short jump; hold it for a high one.
  • Hold Space in the air to glide across the streets.

Combat and Absorption

  • Left-click strikes with claws; tap three times for a combo with auto-aim, knock-ups, and a score multiplier — every hit lands with hit-stop, a camera kick, and a sound of its own.
  • Hold the attack button for a maul smash, unlocked after mission 4.
  • When an enemy is weakened, a marker appears — press E to absorb it, healing yourself, gaining biomass, and optionally taking its appearance so security will not shoot at one of their own.
  • Press E next to a car to lift it; press E or attack to throw it — effective against drones, turrets, and the helicopter.

Medal Challenges and Daily Challenge

  • Yellow pillars outside missions start medal challenges: 6 rooftop runs through chains of gates and 3 Smash arenas full of cars, drones, and turrets.
  • Go for bronze, silver, or gold; press R to restart a challenge instantly.
  • The daily challenge is the same for everyone, comes with a twist such as low gravity or explosive cars, and keeps a streak that makes your claw trail grow.
  • The "Daily challenge" card in the menu takes you straight to today's challenge.

Progression and Collectibles

  • Tab (the Form button) switches arm forms — 18 forms are available in total.
  • 12 mutations can be acquired across the game.
  • 20 hidden data capsules are scattered through the city.
  • 10 achievements are listed in the "Achievements" menu button, each showing its icon, name, unlock condition, and your current progress.
  • A daily reward is also available.
