3D Chess - Arcane Edition drops you into a mystical enchanted garden where the classic strategy game gets a striking makeover. The board sits within a fairytale atmosphere, and several scenes show a stone-paved walkway splitting through a green lawn bordered by pink, yellow, and white flowers. The pieces themselves carry hand-crafted copper and gold detailing, and several views show metallic gold accents on the bases and tops of the pieces. How to Play 3D Chess - Arcane Edition: Checkmate the Opponent's King to Win

Select a piece and glowing dots immediately reveal every legal move available to it. Move onto an enemy piece's square to capture it. The objective is to put the opponent's king in checkmate. Before or during a solo game, the settings menu lets you change the difficulty, toggle move hints, or mute audio.

• Hard: a serious test of skill powered by Stockfish, one of the strongest chess engines in the world

Hints

The lightbulb button offers up to 3 hints per game, with a short cooldown between uses. Each hint highlights the engine's recommended move. In solo mode this is a rewarded feature.

Multiplayer

Tap "Play a Friend" on the landing screen to create a private room, then share the room code. The other person opens the link and plays as the other colour. Rooms are temporary — once everyone leaves, the game and its history are gone permanently. No account or login is required; just pick a name and play.

Controls

• Drag: Rotate the camera around the board
• Pinch or scroll: Zoom in or out
